Isn’t China doing something like this ? Wonder if it could degrade to something worse than the status quo where reputations are falsely tarnished by competitors purely as a weapon to get ahead…

The problem is that knowledge in a LLM is separated in the mathematical sense (vector direction) but not necessarily meaningfully grouped in the matrix (would be easier to split between disk/memory) if such. I think a rough analog is t

I’d certainly expect so. There are cheap dongles that spoof the EDID for a fixed 4K or HD monitor with fixed settings. Not sure what they do about DCC/CI, might just disconnect it.

Indeed. But still amazed we did anything about it, since it didn’t immediately affect population centers or cause economic impacts. I just can’t see the same happening in today’s political climate…

$100M funding is a hell of a lot of money. Yeah, prominent thing run by famous guy … but why so much funding so early? What does $100M enable in the next 5-10 years that $25M doesn’t?

To me, conjectures seem less useful than a meteorologist offering weather predictions. Aside from mere intellectual entertainment, they are worthless in the practical sense. They cannot be used in proofs, nor aid in solutions of other pro

I also thought rebase was scary long ago. It is scary in the sense if one messes something up without realizing and then pushes to master… Besides interactive rebase, my other favorite command is “git log —-oneline origin/master..HEAD

I’m not entirely sure other startups necessarily want to succeed… Their goal often seems not to be toward a successful, sustainable product. They just market their vision in the hopes of being acquired. A few fewer failures might not be en

In large orgs, each team spends a ridiculous amount of effort adding the “glue” logic to work around design/architectural issues with the other teams’ products they interface with. Neither one really understands the other’s component.

The issue was never coding. Today, developers assemble a Tower of Babel built of libraries they do not understand. Those libraries were largely built the same way. There is “no value” in a company maintaining their own purpose-optimized HT
