Honestly, I agree quite a bit. The US and other countries have the same dynamic that FAANG does with startups, we put up the money to have anything worthwhile come in-house, which kills competition. Please India/China/Europe, buil

A great way to circumvent this is to build a large headquarters in an undesirable location. "No American software engineers are applying for my job in <random midwest town where I will be the only software employeer>! I need H1bs

Yeah, I think people mistake country and geographic area. The US is the 300+ million people that build and apply systems and institutions within an area, not the area itself. Coming to the conclusion that people here are interchangeable wit

It also has the effect of making the job posting seem fake, or like a scam, because who in their right mind would believe META, who has their own, in-house operated, online job application portal, would require a job application to be maile

People forget that the popularity of being anti-war is relatively new, like maybe 100-150 years old. World War 1 popped off so quickly specifically because moral objections to war from the standpoint of "violence is wrong" were

1) Chat GPT is nearly 3 years old, and LLMs were around before that. 2) Yes, they still have some time to fit the market better, but that doesn't change what they'll need to do to fit the market better.

Seems like a recent thing IMO. Social media has caused some people's perception of reality to get so far out of whack that they think being denied Ferrari and a beach house is an act of persecution, and they are willing to go to any le

Electric motors are very energy efficient. I believe they are actually far more efficient on a per-joint movement basis, and the equivalence between us and them is largely due to inefficient locomotion. Where we excel is energy storage. Far
