As a type-1 diabetic, to check my glucose, I have to use a spring-loaded device that pricks my finger with a needle which I then squeeze out to get a large enough sample, then pick up another device with a test strip attached where I collec

Diabetes isn't about sugar specifically, it's about carbohydrates. I'm sure you didn't have a "no carb" month -- which means your point is kinda meaningless. You may have avoided the 38 grams of sugar in that c

I paid for it, but am not using Sublime Text any longer. I now use phpStorm and Webstorm (paid for both, well worth the workflow/efficiency improvements) and Atom for one-off file edits. Just swap 'sudo subl /etc/hosts&#

I used to charge different rates for different things, but then I realized my time is what's valuable, not so much the task I'm doing. So I switched to $200/hr and stopped wasting time and energy figuring out whether I should

Can you provide information as to where you are located? These rates seem pretty low IMO, and you speak to location being an important variable, it would be helpful to know what region you're referencing.

For what it's worth, I just recently upgraded from Nexus 5 to Nexus 6 and I have had absolutely no problems with the device, especially with call volume. Literally everything is a step up. I wouldn't let this sour you entirely, if

What's not mentioned here is California just broke ground on a similar project from "LA to SF" but is more like Burbank to San Jose. It is not only estimated to cost 10x as much, but because it will use existing Amtrak rails

As a type 1 diabetic, fasting for 20 to 30 days would likely kill me. Stop making blanket statements. It's offensive that you are perpetuating the false belief that all diabetics can fix their problems by simply fasting.

I'd imagine the patents are owned by the institutions the research is being conducted at and a Big Pharma will company will buy or license those patents after trials. Startups are too small for shouldering the financial load of develop

This is pretty spot on. You generally always have a running estimate in your head, "I ate two tacos, took three units of Humolog, needed to correct down an extra 50 points with the extra unit (because I undershot last meal), etc."

Without insurance, blood glucose test strips cost $40 for 25. I test myself 8 times a day. That's nearly $5k/yr right there. It is really expensive... Thank God for health insurance

There's another option, root and load a custom Rom. Not only will the phone run leaner (and in theory faster) but it won't have the bloat. The only investment is your time. =]
