My boss pays me three months in advance. And you're talking about a very new funding model. I'm not saying there are necessarily lots of examples of great movies already produced with this model. I'm saying they could easily

Google play almost solves this problem for me with music. I have a hopeless addiction to fairly off-the-beaten-track hip-hop, and used to have to use private trackers and forums to find good stuff. I got Google play music recently, uploaded

There are also nice libraries in Ruby, Java, C++, Go, JS... You don't need any particular language, but still most bioinformatics teams have Perl code to work with.

For better or worse, Perl is alive and well in bioinformatics. Lots of people are trying to change this, but at the moment it's a fact. So if you're a Perl programmer, are struggling to find a job that lets you wallow in the Perl

Yeah, there are protections, but like all legal protections they are really only technically there. Practically, taking that course requires sinking a huge amount of time, effort and possibly money into it, and the outcome is not certain. M

Going to HR requires there to be an HR department. In general the ability to do something about bullying in a company or institution depends on there being the management and adminstrative structure to formalise complaints without them goin

Didn't realise it was the fastest airplane ever built, that sheds some light on it. It is really a greater engineering feat than anything in the space program?

My first job as a teenager was IT for a babysitting agency run by my school. They employed former students as the babysitters. It was very popular but when they tried to scale it beyond the school it failed. Basically parents were willing t

That's exactly my point. It's dangerous because she's made his address, car registration and all his family's details public. I'm saying we should raise it with the people responsible if we think it's a problem
