We are way past 1984 with cellphones... that is just icing on the cake. If I was on a different forum, I would think that you were working for MS.

We need a photosynthesis-like process that creates pure hydrogen...

Do you think that it's bad enough that it will do some major population control?

Because batteries are not a storage medium and they are not filled by using electricity... ? of course gasoline is better because you get it out of the ground, but I have a feeling that we will discover an efficient way to produce hydrogen

   > Hydrogen is effectively a storage technology a lot like batteries and gas tanks

   > PoS is a pretty broken system imo You could have a PoS currency that would initially distribute all coins evenly across the globe (that would be a really cool experiment). But yeah I don't like PoS either.

It's at least a 50% chance. The god-believing-people would probably say that we are for sure.

Its not like reddit improved since 2017... they added silver, copper and a sucky new interface but I dont think that helps anyone.

what do you know? use that. Also you could start with reddit's latest opensource version.

    > but it will only get a lot worst, before it gets better The reason for that is that 99% of people don't care about it today... but they eventually will.

If copyright cease to exist, of course open source licenses won't be based on it... They probably will be a bit (or a lot) simpler. Someone should make a movie about a world without copyright.

Privacy is becoming a thing of the past... everything you touch spies on you and report back to the Government. It is nuts... but it will only get a lot worst, before it gets better. "The Internet of Spying Things"

    > Dropping RSS likely didn’t change their declining popularity for better or worse probably not... what did is Google having popups promoting Chrome every time you did a Google search.

Since Windows 10, MS is getting its inspiration from Android and iOS... I'd be scared to touch Windows 11.

I remember a car sinking (sink hole) at a gas station near my home in Florida... but in this case, sink holes were not the problem... and the owner knew about structural and draining problems (they just did nothing about it)

Firefox dropping RSS is one of their many stupid decisions (it's not like RSS changes a lot and takes a lot of maintenance)... I'm seriously thinking about switching to Otter (installed it today)

Shim is on top of grub? not good ... They are trying to turn PCs into phones where you can't do what you want.

    > Why do people keep repeating this FUD? Linux plus UEFI Secure Boot works fine as long as you use the signed version of GRUB. It’s not hard. Very ridiculous. You have to get someone else to sign it for you, don't you?
