I just want to point out something a bit pedantic, but I feel is an important distinction: Linux community and devs need to stop saying i386 and say i586 or even i686 as this is closer to what is meant. Linux doesn’t support 386 anymore, yo

Honestly? I personally care very little whether or not something is open source at this point in time. Code bases have become so large that there’s little benefit to me other than self-hosting, and there are few things I care to self-host.

I know it isn’t popular to have this point of view, but I think Gates was right at the time. The work Microsoft did on BASIC back then was good, and it made computers usable. That people wouldn’t pay made the entire thing worthless. This en

Honestly, every paradigm and tool the industry has come up with has been great at identifying and attempting to solve either or one or many issues with software development and maintenance. The UNIX guys did this for C, where when UNIX syst

Well, that's true, but there are also more important applications: reducing heat and power loss in chips, increasing the efficiency of electric motors, increasing the efficiency of electromagnets, decreasing charge times for batteries,

Yeah, but in this case, not only was the temperature setting increased, but so was the oven’s insulation. As a result, the oven became more efficient at heating and more efficient at holding heat.

This is kind of the basis of small-government advocacy. Whatever good the current person may do with said power, it is unlikely that the next person will be so benevolent.

They are, however, deeply flawed. The labor theory of value is the core Marxist economic principle, and it is incorrect. Marx also doesn’t deal with the knowledge problem, and he doesn’t adequately address the value of laborless resource. I

It would seem that life covers every inch of this planet in some capacity. The more we look, the more there is. Life under the ocean, life inside rocks, life floating around in the air, life just persists everywhere. It’s gotta be elsewhere
