Yes! One could argue that we might end up with programmers (experts) going through a training of creating software manually first, before becoming operators of AI, and then also spending regularly some of their working time (10 - 20%?) on k

I love LLMs for learning and discussing concepts, but the AI slop and people using the very peak of the current hype cycle to make quick bucks is causing a lot of societal damage. Is AI winter coming?

Even though the article is mainly about AsyncIO in Python, it does a very good job at explaining various terms used in Concurrency Programming in general and CPU- vs IO-bound processing.

I wonder how have they measured it... But in any case, one might argue that truly human writing will (already is) a competitive advantage - depending on the domain of course, we do not always care about that

In most cases, you're right, but then there actually is life- and safety-critical software; so I guess - it depends and that's also one of the potential ambiguity sources.

True; but I also think that the nature of software development is different from traditional engineering - we are not constraint by the physical world; there is more options, ambiguity and creativity involved

AI slop at its highest. It was both a bad and good day for open-source; good that this PR was rejected, but the fact that a thing like this has happened and author's justifications of the AI choices and reasoning were really, really ba

Writing is such a powerful and often underrated and underutilized tool; I don't think it's an overstatement to say that it's at par with fire and should be in the top 5 of all-time humanity inventions/discoveries.

I wonder why is it that we get an increase in these automated scrapers and attacks as of late (some few years); is there better (open-source?) technology that allows it? Is it because hosting infrastructure is cheaper also for the attackers
