Garbage comments like yours are what perpetuate the rift between the Asian/White (what I refer to as the "upper-class") super majority in tech and the infinitely smaller minority that are brown people and women in tech. I

As an immigrant to this country it feels good to pay my taxes every year. It's the least I can do for everything this country has done for me and my family.

The fact that Dropbox DOESN'T throw the data away makes the point that they are taking your data hostage as leverage to get you to pay, and maybe even pay more over time. As for your own analogy, if you abandon your property during an

The biggest problem with XML is verbosity. Besides the excess complexity it also add bits over the wire to transmit all that extra crap. JSON is king.

Didn't Steve Jobs say something about B players should only be hiring A players? Cause we all know if you start hiring C players they will just start hiring D players and so forth. The Bozo Explosion he called it.

Don't forget the overhead that comes with the ORM framework as well. I happen to be of the opinion that ORMs are good for prototyping and very small data models and one-off type projects but not for big leagues, production ready code.

That's an interesting turn of events. I was always told to use open source because it is safer (due to it being available publicly and all), but is it really safer to expose every bit of detail to all gov, grey, white and would-be blac

In code I define beauty as the ability to do a lot with just a little. Simplicity while at the same time providing robustness is what gives me this feeling. E=mc^2 is considered the greatest equation in history because of this reason. It ma

I think people like to dissect this too much. Your instincts, after millions of years of evolution, tell you all you need to know about a person. There is nothing "kind" about Linus, Bezos, Jobs, or even Gates for that matter. Gra
