The WebAudio API has an anlayser node that can create spectrogramms in real-time. The ones I've created in the past were nowhere near as detailed as this one though. https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/We

AFAIK you are allowed to use cookies/localstorage as much as you want as long as they're not used for tracking. Github for example uses cookies but doesn't ask for your consent: "At GitHub, we want to protect developer p

I also thought about FAANGs at that point but in a different way: I understood the technical intelligentsia to be the actual engineers - the people working at FAANGs. FAANG itself are the capitalist class. Thought this paragraph by Wells wa

Had to check this and it turns out that what you're saying is not quite correct: The canteen stopped serving meat altogether which meant that the famous "VW-Currywurst" wouldn't be available anymore. That's what Sch

A couple of years ago the European court of justice actually decided that streaming itself is already illegal. That is, if it's reasonable to assume that you knew it was an illegal stream. I haven't heard about a case of it ever b

I usually don't do this but... AIBs? Google is only giving me Allied Irish Banks. Somehow I feel that's not what you're talking about.

I just went back and actually found the corresponding issue on my repository. Turns out it was firefox having issues with the setTargetAtTime function. I replaced it with linearRampToValueAtTime to get rid of the clicking sounds. I think fo

About the clicks in firefox: I've dealt with this problem in a MIDI webapp I've developed a couple of years ago (midiano.com). If I remember correctly, firefox had some issue when samples were scheduled to immediately start with a

Care to elaborate? I just re-read the article and honestly still don't know what complexity OP was referring to. Do you mean the fact that cookies and LocalStorage (or other APIs able to persist data) are often considered the same thin

In what way is it more complex than it has to be? I don't work in front-end but whenever I've used localstorage for personal projects it's as simple as getting/setting a javascript object with keys & values.

I'm sure that some communes might struggle paying for something that's been paid for by someone else in the past but the argument really lacks if it's used to justify keeping tobacco ads around. Like you said, other advertise

Often the entire bus stops are financed by those advertising there. At least that has always been the argument against finally disallowing tobacco/smoking ads in Germany because then smaller communities would (allegedly) not be able to

Not that I condone secret services collecting data in the way they do, but you're confusing state agencies collecting data with private companies collecting data. And while I do think that state agencies nowadays have crossed most line

Not OP but I remember watching a movie "Who killed the electric car?" in highschool. It's about the EV1, an electric car by GM in the 90s. It had a range of 70-100 miles. If I remember correctly the movie kind of insinuates t
