I also read somewhere that if Elon ran Twitter into the ground in the next decade, using it just to advertise Tesla cars, he would have paid an amount in line with what GM pays for advertising their cars (at least what they paid pre-pandemi

That is kind of a scary article. I tend to dislike crypto arguments that make it political. There are pure economic arguments against it, from free market laissez-faire Friedmanian perspective, from centrist perspective and more obviously f

Yeah expectations are definitely a tricky part of economics and so not knowing how to model them very finely, I had to keep things simple. I tried to integrate a kind of extrapolative expectations with regards to inflation using a linear re

My current high score is 446834. This was not trying too hard, just playing a handful of times. I do have the unfair advantage of being intimately familiar with the economic model.

If you keep inflation low and steady you can get higher scores from reducing menu costs. I can get around 446k by trying to keep it around 1%. Note that it gets more difficult to keep steady when you keep it lower.

If you hit too much disinflation/deflation things can go sour pretty quickly. This is a bit exaggerated in this model as there are only 10 businesses and there can be a domino effect as 10% of the economy fails at a time. You can preve
