What I think is missing from the demo is that we can only see "lateral" movement, which is the reason why many people here think this looks like a lenticular display. If that is a real hologram you should be able to change your vi

As a new-ish pedal steel player, I can offer some ergonomic advices. This isn't a very popular instrument, so this may need an introduction: pedal steel is kind of like a guitar with a system of knee lever and foot pedals to modify str

I am the only one that is very ill-at-ease with that PCB [1]? The routing seems.. off? No straight trace, irregular component placement. Its the kind of work where seemingly "superficial" concern like that are in fact quite useful

It's called ePrivacy. Necessary trackers are excluded from consent. This is a directive so each country will have its specific interpretation, for the french one, you can go to the CNIL's website. The final document is not transla

The reason France could act on his own is that ePrivacy is not subject to the one-stop shop mechanisme. Each country can choose to act independantly. They are not saying that Ireland is not relevant for GDPR-related issues.

You should probably get familiar with the actual regulation before writing such a critical comment. Of course it takes into account the finality of the cookie (or any tracker for that matter).

You could just put the image in the relevant meta tag, there is no need to actually display it in the article.

I love my Walkman NW-A55. Good DAC, solid bluetooth and long battery life. Two things that sucks: * The proprietary cable. Seriously, in 2020.. * It does not support album cover in JPEG 2000. Seems like a detail, but if you like your librar

If you are on Windows, some USB-C hub allow to have two external display (and not mirror ones, for three different display). Not compatible with OSX though.

That reminded me of this experiment [1]. Augment your CTR with simulated mouse cursor /s. But yes, the home page is unusable for me too.. [1]: https://javier.xyz/control-user-cursor/

Yeah, no. This about the ePrivacy directive, if you don't have proper consent, you can't read/write tracers regardless of wether this is personnal data or not, except for tracers needed to establish the communication or deman

I've met Johny Ryan and he seems like an honest and privacy-focused guy. He seems to really care about his work. I must admit that does not quite fit with a lot of the thing I've read about Brave over the years.

It's a good question and I don't thing any DPA has said anything specifically on this issue. But if your logs contains personnal data related to the user which made the deletion request, you might be in trouble. And personnal data

This is a bit saddening to read your take on this guide. The goal is specifically to make the GDPR less daunting and more accessible! I guess it missed the mark. But yeah, the GDPR has to formalize a lot of common sense practices, if you do

You are right. The rights of the user depend on the legal basis you choose. This is covered here[1] Basically: * The right to object is not applicable if your processing is based on contract, legal obligation or protection of vital interest

I think the "Prepare for the exercise of people’s rights" part is critical. If you are a software architect, you need to ask yourself: can I delete a single user data across all my infra easily? If not, you might be in trouble a c

Though keep in mind that to rely on legitimate interest you have to do a "balancing test" between your interest and the ones of the user. This is not an easy legal basis to rely on, and most of the time DPA are quite wary of proce
