Writing OCaml and writing Elixir code is much different for me. OCaml requires more braincells, while Elixir is more flexible.

I think that in some cases where OCaml was chosen, like Docker or some parsers, the choice was obviously not evangelical. But I agree that in most cases it is a post-facto justification.

As much as it easier to exponentially grow, it will also be easy for companies to shrink earnings or relative status in the hierarchy. This is especially true for companies that make the bulk of their profit selling software.

Facebook has double standards and is clearly sided in this conflict. They probably have also shared data and tech with the IDF, like Microsoft has done and most big tech corps.

The issue is partly that some expect a fully fledged app or a full problem solution, while others want incremental changes. To some extent this can be controlled by setting the rules in the beginning of the conversation. To some extent, be

There are already many companies offering bots creation for social media, they might not sell the data, but they do sell the bots.

yes, correct, but ReasonML is abandoned, while there is still some traction in Rescript and it offers the same type safety.

LLMs can only predict the next word, I don't know if it's an advantage to use a language with provable correctness or dependent types, especially when training data is scarce.

Yes, I agree with you and when you give distribution rights to a third party they have the distribution control. How I imagine this mess being resolved is by a middleman, like the distribution services in music, there need to be companies l

My point is that just like I decide if I am going to distribute to streaming services, I also should be able to decide if I am going to allow models to train on my work. Isn't this something obvious?

If it is true that these wrapper companies can't find positive sum economies for their product offerings, there will be a point in time where we will see them fail and it will cause a domino effect, rolling over to the big LLM provider

I think the issue is that some applications are not even reviewed. HRs can also learn the expertise of identifying strong candidates if they build up the experience and frequently talk with engineers about pros and cons of resumes.

yeah, as this is so often the case, many times good, relevant applications are missed. I hope that this Hacker News post will get to one of the key people at Anthropic and they change their minds.
