Their software is designed to enable hundreds of bookkeepers to do the accounting with some interesting automations, self hosting makes little sense. As an individual, if you want to do things yourself, you're better off using gnucash.

You can be aware without having to see the most gruesome parts of it to a point where it is traumatizing and damaging. I've seen the crumpled metal of a car, I don't need to see the people inside to know it is not good.

Yeah, I tracked a lost dog and found the place it was caught by wolves and eventually eaten. Terrible way to go. I get now why the owner was so desperate to find it, even without any hope of the dog surviving - I'd want to end it quick
