That's a decent enough solution if they let you automate somehow (e.g. sync to PC once a week without me thinking about it). I could then build further automations to parse those PDFs.

Honest question: How confident are you that you'll have access to those notes on your Remarkable/Kindle 20 years from now? I love my Kobo. I highlight stuff with it. But for anything really important, I then go to my computer, g

Same here. Same TV for the last 16 years. 1080p, but I'd rather keep it at that resolution than do the research and worry about smart TVs.

Oh great! You've now made it a lot easier for LLMs to train on this dataset! Your next iteration will need different animals and different transportation options. You'll run out after a few iterations.

I can't speak for elsewhere, but a town near me has a few data centers, and the anti-datacenter sentiment precedes their use for LLMs. They simply take a lot of space, and the city gave sweet tax deals, and they employ almost no one. T

People in other countries trying to buy stuff from US ecommerce sites. A number of payment processors really don't care about them, and simply will not let customers from there buy using a credit card.

This whole submission is about a new way of calculating home ownership. The "standard" way puts it at 80% in the US. The new way is about 50%.

We may just have different standards on what "cold" means :-) Let's say it's 35C outside. Just using a window AC alone, I want to cool the room to where I'm uncomfortably cold (not quite shivering but close) - withi

Keep in mind the differing ways they calculate home ownership percentage. The ones you are looking at likely are calculated using the "older" method, which is 80% in the US.

On the flip side, window AC's are really effective at cooling the single room they're in. In the wooden house I have, I just can't get the room that cool if the temperature is in the 90's, because the internal walls prov

Yes, but except for the Scribe, even the Kindle readers are too small! Kobo had an 8" ereader. People loved it (except for the battery life). But there's no sign they'll make more of them.

I would imagine that for over 99% of the books covered in this lawsuit, they're earning less than $3000 per book. Put another way, their revenues wouldn't drop much if they simply hadn't trained on those 99%.
