My thought is that it’s a pro laptop. Does it really need a built-in webcam? How many people never use them or even tape over them? I could live without it, and if it’s actively providing a detriment, that’s all the more reason to get rid o

Because the fossil fuel industry won’t fund it? Cars are financially beneficial for them. The article says it has no conflicts of interest, but I’m very skeptical.

And the Microsoft extensions, like for C++, fetch and run big binary analyzer daemons that do all the work behind the scenes. Use clangd and its extension instead.

I agree. There was speculation a long time ago that she would use a pregnancy for sympathy. The woman is a sociopath. I doubt she cares about the child as anything other than a tool to get out of trouble.

Considering that the vaccine makes many delta cases symptom-free, there are probably a lot of undiscovered infections. That would mean, realistically, the more likely to catch figure is lower and more likely to die higher.

I think the QAnon stuff was originally satire or joking around. It was just a hypothetical thing like “can you imagine?” There was probably some sarcastic tongue-in-cheek responses with false confirmation: “can you believe [absurd thing] is

Also, a warning on Western Digital”s SN750 SE series. These are PCIe 4.0 protocol ones that claim to outperform the regular SN750 drives. In reality they’re slower because they’re DRAM-less. Last I checked they were the same price, so be ca

The green was a palette trick. The Direct3D mode used high-color mode, so that trick wasn’t free. It did draw a green light halo around the character’s feet instead, though.

I just use the Arc GTK theme and use the kvantum Qt theme’s Arc preset. Makes both look pretty much the same. Qogir is another one that’s kind of cross-desktop.

> Apple maintains CUPS these days Apple never really maintained CUPS. They hired the author, Michael Sweet, and he pretty much served as the printing team. He left Apple a couple years ago, and basically stalled their printing department

You need to add some \[ and \] around the escape codes to tell the shell they’re non-printing characters. Otherwise, things like line-wrapping don’t work right. It’s not a problem because of your \n makes it irrelevant, but just a heads up

I think the teachers who choose Stewart books don’t necessarily know how to teach down very well, so that would probably be reflected in their lectures, too. In multi-variable calculus I had a Stewart book and the professor put me to sleep.

Yeah, I’d like to see Snowden exonerated, but the government hasn’t changed. They’re still vindictive about being embarrassed, even though it was clearly whistleblowing and, nearly everyone agrees, ethical.

Except Walden was either satire or hypocrisy. Thoreau was rich through inheritance. Emerson lent him the cabin and land. It was only a 20-minute walk from his mother’s house, where he went for dinner every night.

Maybe it did. But it was the boot drive and soldered to the motherboard. So the OS would need to write to it and there’s no way to get the data off in a third-party manner. That’s kind of the big issue.

If there was 800GB of static data, it was almost full, so the wear-leveling process wouldn’t be optimal and it would write over a small part of the flash cells over and over. In that case you could exceed the program-erase lifetime, but not

I use it. VS Code+clangd intellisense makes it easy to enumerate available classes, functions, and members, and because you don’t have to remember excessively verbose objects, writing self-documenting C++ is simple. Plus, you get automatic

Gnome shell doesn’t even use Gtk, or at least not for drawing and such. If it’s there, it’s completely abstracted away in their JavaScript layer. And yeah, most extensions broke from 3.38-40 already anyway.
