I agree. The E-2 is not talked about a lot and it has the mayor advantage that you can go through your local consulate instead of USCIS in Texas. It's tech related and I didn't have any issues with the consulate. My feeling was th

Congrats on getting your green-card Swizec! I wouldn't generalize to Europe here. I think it's a common mistake that I often make myself is to compare the US to Europe as if both were homogenous. San Francisco is different from De

I always thought that motivation leads to action. But it's actually the other way round: Action leads to motivation which then leads to more action. So just do anything to get started, and then the motivation from doing something wil

I don't understand how this didn't make the front-page, it's absolutely mind-blowing. Or am I missing something and it's not that much of a revolution?

Pre-commit supports reading in multiple types of config files, like pyproject.toml for example. It obviously depends on the tools, but in our case we can use the same configs for pre-commit and CI. It's taken some time to set up, but I

We're using django-stubs and we've been pretty happy with it. We've started the project with it, which was fairly simple. There's one or two model field types that are not supported but those can be skipped. We're u

Yes, video codecs are way better at generating smaller file sizes. GIFs are literally like flip-books of images. You can also autoplay videos without controls and loop them, but you have to mute them. Most "GIF" hosting websites a
