Seems like the fun part of developing prints is taken out of the process. It would be at least educational to have a guide where you make the adjustments to the photo on screen then the app gives you the choice to make those adjustments bef

Yes it's really that bad. Us print people have been holding our noses with web screen shots for years. They really look bad when printed at 300dpi on paper. I would have to see the results with the even finer chemical grain of photo pa

I really wish they would separate Archival Ink-Jets from the rest of traditional printmaking. As someone who runs these printers professionally (trade show , not fine art) and does classic printmaking, I just don't respect the output t

If this is to be fought the time is close at hand. First off if this is played as a left vs right issue it will lose. Second this needs to be won at the primary level. If both the democrat and the republican in a district/state are aga

Well, keep in mind the recovery is less the total calories burned and more the act of putting your entire body weight on the soles of your feet for eight hours on cement floors in crappy shoes. Also, four to five hours of walking is not &qu

I had a bunch of friends who worked at the local movie theater when I was in my early 20's. There was this little old guy who took tickets at the door. He was in his late 70's or early 80's. I think most people would look at him and think p

Here is a question for those who know: is there anything forum regulars can do when we see spam posts beyond letting mods know about it? I was active in a now dead forum that would get hit once or twice a week. The mods would clean it up wi

20 years? Try going back 400. 99.1% of the US population are descended from immigrants. Ignoring genetic differences and only going with cultural, you are really talking about how quickly immigrant groups homogenize to a standard culture of

I probably phrased it poorly. I was trying to point out that populations in the US mostly come from somewhere else and how quickly each group homogenize with the rest of the population differs greatly per group and region.

So, the US is 87.2% native American? Or are we only counting the first generation as "foreign born"?

Just looked through the list. A quarter of the listed games are Crusader Kings II and all it's DLC. It's a good game, but... As a mac user, I don't see a good reason to get a Linux box for steam as most the Linux games are also for OSX. Thi

I always wonder at these sort of tinfoil hat articles. It seems to me that someone who has the skills and access to the internet but does not leave much of a trace is a huge red flag for what ever the tinfoil hatter fears. A better strategy

But would Wikipedia be worth reading if it wasn't for those who did find history classes interesting and wrote/fact checked Wikipedia articles?

If you like reading, is it worthless for the authors who will write the books that you will read to have studied history, language and literature? Or in other words, do you use/consume stuff that are the product of what you can't remember f

It's not really "standard junk" though. Imperial measures are standardized human units. I have a foot that is about a foot, a knuckle that is about an inch, a stride that is about a yard. One day carrying a gallon of water a decent distance
