I'm sure he is referring to "Vulcan Compute" as analogous to OpenGL compute [shaders].

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "has some bad software editor" in the context of a USB device, but for reversing USB protocol, look at Wireshark: https://wiki.wireshark.org/CaptureSetup/USB

You clearly don't know me. It is a lot more likely to be my own fault!

You wrote that with such passion that I read the articles. As a caution to people think the font rendering is fine - DON'T read the articles! You cannot unsee it. Thanks for this very informative post!

Somehow I prefer the user experience in Linux. If something breaks, it's most likely due to my own doing.

I heard somebody mispronounce the color fuchsia as fucks-ya. Seems apt in this case?

The ink in the nozzles dry up and usually it takes several 'cleaning' sessions to get them all working again.

I guess it is referred to in that way to give the reader context as to why it is needed now.

What is different in this case is it is not really an energy storage system (at least that is not the main intended purpose), but only to provide stability to the grid frequency. A huge flywheel in a vacuum to provide a reference to million

It is to mimic the spinning turbine generators, which themselves act as flywheels, but in this case without the turbine part. The rotational inertia gives stability in that the frequency cannot suddenly change. I thought that was quite clea

I had the same issue with a cheap Orico that identifies as a Toshiba device ID 0080:a001. In UAS mode it would work for a couple of seconds and start to fail, dropping transfer speed to a couple of hundred kB/s

That really does seem like an implementation issue and not a connector standard issue. Connectors should at least be secured with through-hole pins for the casing IMHO.

That seems to have been changing quite a bit in the last couple of years. Just look at the Zephyrus 14.

Looking at the puny heatsink on this card, I call that pretty impressive performance/watt. (Note that the heatsink is on the FPGA, not the actual gzip accelerator chip.)

For the trackpoint, just look for a replacement thinkpad keyboard with one - that is the cheapest way to get the part, usually for about $15. I have a bunch of keyboards running TMK with trackpoints.

It is probably because Hutterer was also one of the maintainer of xf86-input-evdev, xf86-input-synaptics and now libinput. (AFAIK)
