Reminds me of the "if we understand it, it's just a machine, if we don't, that's technology". Nobody calls a bus "technology" anymore, but ML, now that's technology!

The reality is that most people don't care, or don't know enough to care, or don't care enough to know. Switching to a meatless diet isn't an insurmountable hurdle, it's just inconvenient. And even that small inconv

I remember reading that toxoplasmosis might also cause people to be engaging in more risk-taking behaviors. How do you even factor that, or similar behavior-altering parasites into a legal situation?

Firefox is my daily driver as well, and I experience a bunch of lag with it too. Overall it's stable and reliable, but it feels slow. I usually fail over to Chromium if Firefox is misbehaving.

Interesting that their senior software dev is in the 140-170k range, which isn't too far off what you would be making at mid stage startups. Sure, it doesn't compare to FAANG, but most jobs don't, especially if you factor in

I don't entirely grok how the Bay can be the IT capital of the world and also have such poor fiber penetration. I've experienced commercial fiber first-hand in downtown SF, but that was never an option for residential use. Only Co
