I wouldn't worry about that deadline. Take the time to find someone with whom you can work well, and take more than 32.5 hours to think about it. (from the YC FAQ: "Teams thrown together for the purpose of starting a startup usually fall ap

Can you identify some layouts that require display: table/table-row/table-cell? They solve some problems with CSS, but those problems (insofar as I've experienced) only come up when working with designs that specifically target the shortcom

I would suggest a grid-based CSS framework, such as http://www.blueprintcss.com/ . They eliminate most the headaches of cross-browser bugs in CSS for layout, at the (comparably minor) expense of including some non-semantic class names. Wh

I'm seeing it on Eee Linux, which lacks a number of 'web-safe' fonts, and if it did have them it would have no idea how to properly display them. I think we rightly fall in edge cases not worth supporting, alongside IE6 ( http://ipinfo.inf

Atlas won't be the first iPhone app-bridging framework, though easy Cappuccino may make it the most compelling. John Resig blogged about a few extant frameworks in November: http://ejohn.org/blog/iphone-javascript-apps/ . PhoneGap ( http

I suspect #tweetmyjobs is trending simply because TweetMyJobs' many accounts hashtag it to every post they make. Their posts are automatically-generated got-to-fit-in-140 gobbledygook, and several of their accounts that I checked have been

For what it's worth, I have a Yahoo Pipe that does this for me. The source is easily customizeble to suit your own site-blocking needs. http://pipes.yahoo.com/brianseward/hackernews

This plays a bit like an good user-made game made in my middle school obsession, ZZT. The sliding puzzles, rock reflection puzzles, simple inventory, and real-time fights could all be built easily in ZZT.

I would rather have an ungrammatical (but easily understood) sentence than one that obfuscates reflexive actions. Also, publishing alternatively-worded stories for genderless users is a little bit of a pain for third-party developers. Custo

The author pooh-poohs CSS, and pooh-poohs bulky sites, but the table-heavy pages on the site have many repeated, wasteful inline styling tags. Some trivial, cross-compatible CSS would streamline the site further (admittedly, down from almos
