Another interesting thing by the same person that got pretty popular on HN: The Joys of Small Game Development https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=37799387

Other AAA games like Tears of the Kingdom also having stunning graphics. It’s quite impressive, though only rendered in 720p.

That was the point I wanted to make. I don’t see Apple letting Beeper make money off of a service they don’t run. If the app was open sourced and free then Apple wouldn't really be able to stop it. Apple can definitely sue them as a bu

This was quite interesting, but I’m disappointed it didn’t mention how many lines in C it actually took to run. Perhaps a profiler might help calculate this?

Technically yes, but editions are more like different "flavors" of Rust than actual breaking changes. A 2021 crate is supposed to be able to import a 2018 crate, likewise for 2015 and 2024. Because they all need to work together,

Yo that's awesome! I've been using Obsidian for some time, and it's absolutely superb. Since I started using it after the 1.0 release, what did it look like before the redesign?

Ignoring the topic of the article, the artwork and design was fantastically done! Props to whoever designed it :)

Sum types are amazing! Once I got introduced to them in Rust, it was hard to go back to languages like Java where the enum type is pitiful in comparison.

This looks really cool! I personally use Jetbrains Mono [0] as my goto font, but with the different-fonts-per-context and texture-healing features I might switch to this. 0: https://www.jetbrains.com/lp/mono/

Congrats! Ferrocene has been building towards this accomplishment for a while. I definitely appreciate the amount of hard work that went into this. (And as a fellow Rust user, all the improvements and changes that get merged upstream.)

Bevy is one of my favorite game engines, especially for larger projects. Asset V2 preprocessing and .meta files look super useful. I'm also looking forward to lightmap support in future releases!

Occasionally I enjoy viewing the HTML of websites to try to deduce what web framework they are using. I couldn't figure it out for this one, but here are some things that I find interesting: - On line 90 of the homepage, there is a sin

I follow a person on Github who works here! (cbiffle[0]) They wrote a fantastic series[1] on learning Rust from a C perspective and I highly recommend it. [0]: https://github.com/cbiffle [1]: https://cliffle.com&

Jetbrains has good IDEs, but I've always disagreed with how much they abstract over "running" programs. Run configurations are great for projects where you iterate quickly, but they do not teach newcomers how to use the comma

This is fair for certain languages like JS or Java (IntelliJ is amazing), but not as much for less popular languages. I started learning Rust a few years ago, where the Rust plugin for Jetbrains IDEs was still in its infancy. Switching to V

Downloading the videos is always an option, but I’ve found it’s too much of a hassle when browsing content. It works really well when you’re planning on going offline, though!

Desmos does have a Github page, but unfortunately the main codebase is not public. Their API docs are well written, though, so it's really easy to embed Desmos into your site. [^1]: https://github.com/desmosinc [^2]:
