The message you get when running noscript is almost condescending. Please enable Javascript to use NoPlaintext. Javascript is an integral part of modern websites and is very easy to enable.

More programmers===better programs. How can this be a bad thing? I'm not sure this is true. Going with the articles example, that's like saying "the more people who know how to use a hammer, the better houses we will have".

You might want to contact the debconf video team for advice/help. http://wiki.debconf.org/wiki/Videoteam I've worked on it before, so you can PM me if you have any questions.

I've changed the permissions of /dev/pts/X in the past to allow anybody to access it. (e.g. sudo chmod o+rw /dev/pts3) This may open up the screen session to others, I've not played around with it enough.

(This is how I contributed roughly $3MM of value to one company as a kid who barely knew how to program) Care to tell this story?

Serious question: Why would you want your search engine to be run by the same company that runs your email and cloud documents?

I don't see how they would associate that with you. Only the exit node for the google queries would be suspect, and I'm pretty sure most don't keep logs.

I browse with 1.5 gigs, with both firefox and chrome open. Firefox will have up to 30 tabs, and chrome up to 20. I can still browse fine. Edit: Debian minimal install using the Awesome window manager.

After all, if we were only interested in deconstructing finished products, there would be no Food Network. Not quite. The food network is mostly about recipes that have already been created and tested. The equivalent would be putting up t

I switched from Google to DuckDuckGo, but I gave up after a few days. DuckDuckGo's results were very good for popular/mainstream terms, but Google is much better at deep "needle in haystack" searches. When was this? It's gotten a lot bett

Yes, but the point is you have to buy a ticket with your real name. You can't board the plane unless the ticket is in your name. If it is in your name, you get stopped at check-in.

sometimes programmers don't consider the ramifications of their actions. And the google higher ups don't do anything about this because in the long run it makes them more money.

Fun? Why do you go on walks? Read fiction books? Hang out with friends? I think one of the ruts a lot of hackers (myself included) can fall into is thinking that everything that they do needs to have a point to it that furthers some long te

I do have some symptoms of PTSD. Low-flying planes freak me out intensely, as do sudden loud noises and low vibrations strong enough to shake things. Are these really PTSD symptoms? I have the same thing, though perhaps not as bad. I was

I'm pretty sure you're correct. I've worked with a number of 501(c)(3), and most of them have worked on political issues and bills. They cannot endorse a candidate though.

I think a lot of children can do this. I remember in middle school the entire class complaining that the TV was on, with a blank screen, and the teacher having no idea how we knew.
