I'm not even a New Yorker, but I can tell you the vast, vast majority of the people in that city are not "petty bourgeois". There is tremendous money in the city, but it is not even close to evenly distributed.

Homelab over certification, easily. The best engineers I know never held a cert. Some hiring managers consider it a negative signal. It's the same problem with bootcamp coders - it's a signal that you need to be explicitly instruc

Seconded. This looks like a good ol' fashioned audit to me. No need to co-opt a term that means something else entirely.

The problem is he tried to means-test it, which made it a program that had to go through Congress. If he had just waved his hand and done it unilaterally, it would not have been blocked.

I don't disagree that it results in broken incentives and otherwise undesirable outcomes. But to take the example of your roof - in a business scenario, you would amortize that expense over the number of years you expect the roof to la

You could create a cooling, charging dock for that purpose with an HDMI or DP out. Hell, you could put it in the base of the monitor even. It's definitely feasible for a company like Apple and I could see a market for it in the corpora

This is enlightening. I prefer to lean heavily on my terminal for most things, but tui email + web browsing never quite "clicked" for me. And I feel like this perfectly encapsulates why. Thanks for putting words to the feeling!

You probably don't want to work there anyway. Any company using High School GPA and extracurriculars as a hiring criterion for senior roles, is, in my opinion, not a serious organization.

Is there a way to run this in AWS? Seems like the biggest GPU node they have is the p5.48xlarge @ 640GB (8xH100s). Routing between multiple nodes would be too slow unless there's an InfiniBand fabric you can leverage. Interested to kno

Loki backed by S3 and queried via Grafana is a good, mostly FOSS solution. Installs pretty easily via helm and S3 gives a reasonable balance between cost, ease, and durability if you're in AWS already.
