When Google purchased Double Click they got a bunch of cool Double Click advertising technology along with the Double Click affiliate network. They did an ok job with the affiliate network (GAN), but you could tell it was never a priority o

I like the direction Yahoo is going with the new design of Yahoo.com page. I can go to Yahoo and in a few seconds get a snapshot of the stocks I follow, the weather, and important news stories. Mayer seems to understand how a product like Y

As a beginning ruby on rails programmer this site was really helpful. It makes expert knowledge from stack overflow easily accessible. Keep up the good work.

I'm a designer working on learning ruby on rails. This seems like an awesome program and a great way to learn. I'm not looking to land a job as a rails developer, but I want to learn how to build projects I design. Do you think this bootcam

I started with Dreamweaver back in the day. It was nice because you could switch between code view and design view. Also I created a really crappy music review site and used that project to help me learn html/css.

All they had was a little information icon by the green circle with a hover message letting you know what the problem was. They need to make that circle red!

I really like the table hover effect. It gives me a visual cure of what row I'm currently on. However, I always make sure it's a subtle highlight color.

Nice use of bootstrap and changing things up so it doesn't look like a default bootstrap site.

Same here. I hear the announcers throw around a bunch of different terms describing formations or strategies. Now, we will actually be able to see them in action as a whole.

If Yahoo could buy Quora that would bring in lots of great talent and possibly bring some interesting things to jumpstart their search product. However, I like Quora and don't want to see Yahoo ruin it.

Every designer has their style and if they are given free range to develop something in that style then both parties win. The designer will be more excited about the project and they will get the project done faster. This is great advice fo

Actually, that's the beauty of shipping new design tweaks or features frequently. People are slowly introduced to changes and are eased into a new design instead of one day waking up up to a completely new design they have never seen befor

Both designs are ok. I don't think the designs are turning people away from your product. You could post your site on reddit in r/webdesign or r/design an get feedback from those groups. Or post on r/startups and ask for some advice on how

Best advice I got from a friend about programming is: make it work, then make it better, then make it faster.

CodeSchool.com has a lot of great classes on a wide variety of programming topics. Also, think of a simple project you want to work on and do that. DHH has a great post on learning how to program. http://37signals.com/svn/posts/2582-how-do

"In short, if software is truly eating the world, then it needs to be more meaningful." I think we are slowly getting there. But, areas such as politics, education and medicine are really behind the curve. I've noticed a lot more start ups

For the most part social networks give you the tools to manage friends fairly well. I know on Facebook you can change a setting to only view important updates from people. I like this option because you don't have the social awkwardness of

"The circuit" gets me all the time. Sometimes I don't even know why I'm checking email/twitter/reddit that I checked only a few minutes ago. I just blocked reddit and youtube as an experiment to see if I can be more productive without them.

It's nice to see Microsoft putting some effort into design. The logo doesn't take my breath away or anything, but I think it's an improvement on the old one.

This is a great way to generate new ideas and get everyone involved. Google kind of did this with the whole spend 30% of your time on working on new projects. But yeah, this is a hackathon not a vacation.
