As far as I know, the "Bin Laden" nickname was because "everyone knew that they (he) existed, but nobody knew where they (he) was (were) / nobody had sen them (him)".

Pinging my machine, about 20%-30% of the pings return. I guess this means that some part of the network is overloaded (either by an increase in traffic (DDOS?) or by some part of it going down, leaving the remaining machines overloaded).

This would have to be adjusted to the fact that most people is not usually in a position to easily kill this many people, while pilots are in a mostly daily basis.

It's () instead of [] because it's a regular function call. It's related to the scalability thing that Odersky also mentions (as much functionality in libraries as possible, rather than in the language).

Simple Scala.js JS "binaries" are quite big (from ~170kb before compression) because they add the part of the Scala standard library that they need. From there, though, output size does not increase fast.

The IE6 share is going to be higher when normalized for people with Internet access, so the comparison is going to hold by a wider margin.

I'm glad you like it. The image has been deleted. If I assume correctly and you have climbed the McKinley, you can do a climbed log (I have to change the wording to make it more clear).

It's true the first peaks I have introduced are very difficult ones, but the site is also appropiate for average peaks. Perhaps I should stress it better. Browsing with Google Maps could be indeed interesting as well, I'll try to implement

The search functionality is not there yet, sorry. It is planned for the near future. You're right that for most areas there are no hikes yet. Feel free to add your favourite peak (no need for it to be a very high mountain).
