Yes but society did a lot as well (for example providing enough free education so that most people are even able to use FaceBook in the first place), and thus they are do their share as well. Instead, he is trying to duck out so that his fa

In what I do (mostly business cruds) it is mostly an art. The skill is not to get it done, but to organise the code effectively so that it will be easy to debug and adapt and reuse etc. It really doesn't feel like a science and more like be

I have a problem with his analogy to physics. The experimental physicist purpose is to verify in the real world the laws discovered... but the person actually using those laws to build products (I'm skipping a few steps) is called an engine

Well over the longer period it will bring more people into the career. Economic issues work on the scale of years. But I assure you that if you start paying more now you'll see more people entering in 6 years (ie. you'll catch the attention

Is it that disadvantageous to prefer BitBucket? When people say they check GitHub is that short for checking for publically available source code, or is Git Hub the one-stop-shop for coding credability?

I think in Canada that describes only 3 cities, and even then a lot of the tech companies are on the outskirts since the offices are cheaper.

I agree. I think the reason people move onto newer sites is to escape the cesspool... but that cesspool is the one the advertisers want. So if the hipsters all ditch facebook and go to another service they will raise its profile and will at

My problem is that I see this used as way of forcing unpaid overtime on to workers by creating unreasonable release dates. In an agile environment where people are given lots of autonomy and can give accurate estimates I like your idea, but

I actually didn't know that welding was something with varying degrees of skill. That wasn't said out of condescension but rather ignorance. I guess "cashier" would have been a better example. There are people who want to work like cashier

I mean "load balancing" in the sense of the amount of work that get assigned to an employee so that you don't get tasks like designing an ORM from scratch in less than week just because your PM heard bad things about Hibernate. If the answe

Yes, but what are the unskilled masses to do? Unless we start shovelling them money, are they to starve? What made America great was that an average person could have a house and car working 40 hours a week, what is going to happen to that?
