I have heard that the real underlying problem concerned resource usage (ten thousand regexp matches etc). But only now do I wonder why the browser's reaction is to remove an API instead of to limit the amount of CPU extensions can use.

What might that tell us? The reason to use republican judges was that republicans are sympathetic to republican ideas, opinion etc., and so if they choose to ban a user, it won't be because that user expresses republican opinions. What

Their stack is basically LAMP+Wordpress. 8% on that? I think that's reasonable. More to the point, while WP Engine had the same right as everyone else to download and install the open source software they use, the right to download, in

Likely nothing, at least not for a while. This looks like a carefully negotiated deal, so I'm sure someone has considered what happens to contracts between the territory and other parties, including this contact. But someone will have

But OTOH spending 8% of gross revenue on developing the core of all their products and services isn't ridiculously high. It may well be more than typical, but not ridiculously so.

There are many shipments of that cargo. What's unusual is to declare an emergency and then not order repairs quickly.

The place "near" Tromsø where it anchored is in the middle of the city now. For this who don't know the place: the city is on an island, facing the mainland. There's a suburb on the mainland, connected to the city with a

https://www.thebarentsobserver.com/industry-and-energy/cargo... I guess the key is that after a few days in Tromsø, the authorities still didn't know what kind of repair was needed, and called bullshit.

That ship is only 183m long. If it was in an emergency, there were plenty of ports near Tromsø that can handle that. Even Murmansk isn't far away. Marine Traffic says it's under way to Malta.

Open source is a gift. There's etiquette involved. Suppose one of your developers writes on twitter that you don't permit contribution, and you fire that developer on the next day. What reaction do you expect from the people who

That's been used for attacks. Suppose there's an app, Niceapp, that keeps all data on device, and you want to attack it and exfiltrate its data. ① You install it, find out that it stores the data in /sdcard/Pictures/

IMO it is benign. Real-world apps don't get much better than that. For example, allowing the user to access the data is a feature, not a bug, and if you allow the user access to the data, then a blackhat can persuade the user to acce

No, it's true. On-device actions count in the eyes of the law. "This app processes the user's data on-device, does not allow other apps to access the data, and optionally copies it to a server that the user provides" is

It's bad UX. Telling people that blocked users can't see your posts mislead them, because all that's needed for as blocked user is to open a window in incognito mode. Good user interfaces don't tell users things that are
