I think the complaint is just that the approach is in no way as novel as you make it seem. It can and has been implemented with Varnish and a few lines of VCL (with support of the app as well, of course). What is "pure varnish" an

Fragment caching of non-anonymous things on a cache is nothing new. Varnish supports it with ESI, other caches support that with other strategies. I've successfully build SPAs using that strategy. It's basically Rails russian doll

You will probably have to write a VCL plugin if you want to parse the cookie, but that's not a huge hassle.

I don't see the problem? There's just no one willing to pay the premium to fly at top speed. There were faster in that time, but they all went out of business.

Considering that SQLite is licensed public domain with the express permission of others selling modifications of it without restrictions (even without acknowledging the original authors), I'd be surprised they mind.

You, my friend, are one of the reasons why we programmers have such a bad reputation with "normal" people. Because first, we build those things and then we shame them for using them and having expectations.

Both brew and macports provide that nowadays. I still see an advantage in using a package manager that is used for a full distro, allowing for easier management of packages. I am aware that this benefit might never materialize, but it'

I just listened to it and it is full of good quotes, my favourite: "Discussions without good definitions are doomed to fail." (about the upcoming NoSQL dabate). I feel that's still ringing true in that sector.

I think we are arguing the same thing: It's the content owners decision, not Googles. Considering that most (all?) fonts on Google Fonts are open (most I checked use SIL or Apache as license), downloading is most likely allowed.

No tracking, easier development when without internet, less external dependencies. You can, for example, use Google with a local fallback, for better reliability. (their CDN will fail at some time)

This is also not ADD. ADD is, among a few other things, a deficiency to guide ones concentration. Hyperfocus and repeated Hyperfocus for things you like is actually a sign of ADD. ADD people can very well do things they enjoy repeatedly and
