By the way: A very interesting article for those interested in a bit of context around unicode and how it doesn't solve everything (especially from an asian perspective) is this one: http://web.archive.org/web/2009

Which is, from the users perspective, pretty irrelevant. The user bought it and is the legal owner of the device. Everything else is a calculation of the seller and his problem (tm).

Quite the opposite, I find it highly unlikely that they would gamble on an amount that equates to that size, especially as there are a number of competitors watching out. And yes, I can imagine such a failure with a build matrix as big as t

Because we are talking about proper legal entities here. If I want my data deleted, they should have the means an the will to do so. Nothing "magical" at all. It is not as if I am asking "the internet" to delete my stuff

My biggest problem with GNUstep is that there is never any mention of an OS X build. There was one, but it is pretty broken and answers to inquiries were basically answered with "why would you even want to do that"? Quite simply:

Hm. If not, you have the problem of making sure that the calling runtime handles memory correctly for the non-GCed space, so it is definitely debatable. E.g. RMagick was famous for suffering from problems of that kind.

Thats sounds alot like the policy in the TeX world, where forks of libraries with breaking changes need a new name. Quite frankly, it's even harder to follow than the occasional breakage at version changes, especially when you try to f

Quake is not open source. The engine is. To actually play "quake", you need to buy the assets. Considering the quality of open replacement assets like OpenArena, I also don't think that open source games work particularly wel

The packages themselves don't change the LOAD_PATH. rubygems/bundler do. Both explicitly add the paths given in the gemspec (lib/ by default). I wouldn't call that "magical".

This goes beyond being 'not ruby-like', as it shows bad craftsmanship (e.g. mixed identifier case, bad indentation, unrunnable code). You don't need help by others for that.

This is very much the definition of a code dump: a single file, not following any standard ruby code conventions - not even naming conventions (it would be called "rx" otherwise), tests within that file, misformatted code. snake_c

Considering that sign languages regularly invent signs, e.g. for names, I doubt that. The interpreter might find out that there is a name at that place, but not know what the written equivalent of that name is.
