It's good to know that other people can see the writing on the wall too. I've told people that this is being made possible. While it is not a guarantee that the availability of the technology will lead to the use of the technology

I know my reasons for feeling worried about it but I wonder why you also dislike the idea of end user operating systems making it trivial for applications to take advantage of remote attestation?

We practice giving up on the whole ordeal as we have to send another damn email to Microsoft asking for them to investigate their standards-non-compliant black box email filtering systems which even they don't understand.

I'm not sure how this is a point against what abigail95 said. My experience of the NHS is similar in that you really have to go all out to get help for any non-standard problem. Now I appreciate medicine is not a very well developed fi

I've managed to go from thoroughly burned out to functioning again without quitting my job. But it always feels like I'm teetering on the edge of burning out again. Previously I had burned out and did a career switch which helped

This reminds me of the one time someone tried to get me to implement TOTP in an environment without an implementation of HMAC-SHA1 (or SHA1 itself for that matter). There was also no easy way of implementing HMAC-SHA1. While protesting the

I find these org mode re-creations in other editors neat but the problem always seems to fall to the fact that other editors can't properly support org-indent-mode as they lack support for virtual text or because of other problems. In

I don't see how this solves the problem of patches which fix up previous patches. This workflow doesn't require using merges, but it will introduce situations (irrespective of whether you use --first-parent or not) where patches f

Does your project have a policy of compiling and running (and e.g. tests passing) at EVERY commit? I can't imagine being able to easily enforce that without asking people to edit the correct part of their commit. It's maybe more d

The systemd man pages are a book. And, just for avoidance of doubt, that's not a good thing. I am never surprised when someone can't find out how to configure systemd to do what they want. It's just too enterprise grade.

You need to put something in those braces. An empty initializer list is not allowed by C99 or C11. That being said, you only need to put ONE thing in there, the rest will then be initialized as you described.

Generally it involves writing new code, which can itself be portable and can be reused. I would also note that even POSIX isn't portable in some contexts (such as trying to write code which can run on windows too).
