It's not really informative to compare the average casualties of hijackings after the period where airport security increased. And with the exception of 9/11? That's like saying that the 1940s were a very peaceful and harmo

I mean, I think the point of all security is to reduce the total numbers of deaths from terrorist attacks overall, not just per means of transportation. That said, the fact of the matter is that the article doesn't back up its clai

It depends on how fast the deflation happens. BitCoin is not all that useful as a currency right now because it's value is so volatile. This is because it is subject to huge increases in demand as it spreads to more places across the g

I'm a liberal, a Keynesian, but my interest in BitCoin is completely non-ideological. And I resent being painted with an ideological brush by Krugman because I can see the elegance in BitCoin, and I can see the possibility that one day

The problem is sometimes you need to be able to report an exception elsewhere than the global log file , for example fold the exception into a user response. For a web application, for instance, using ANORM/Scala/Play, you might h

Well, a long-term ban on personal BitCoin usage (i.e. merely mining and sending/receiving) is unenforcable. More likely a ban would target the commercial means of acquiring BitCoin. So mining enterprises and exchanges and payment proce

I see - I didn't realize Pong was implemented entirely in hardware. Chronologically, at least, Intel's first commercial processor was in 1970 but Pong was released in 1972.

Can someone please tell me how Atari created Pong before Intel invented the CPU? I think I've found a plot hole! And we all know there were none of those in the original 7 day creation story.
