I mean it's a fairly good, strategic explanation - nothing was stopping this guy from building the software himself. He just wanted Apple to help market and distribute it - but medical software is not Apple's business. I'm su

This seems like a bit of unfair muck-raking. I take his point about federal loans/investment, but as far as I know Musk still thinks tax credits to promote alternative energy are a good idea. When he stops receiving those and then clai

That's technically my title, although my company is so small (8 people) that it is not exactly clearly defined. However, a lot of what I do is "architect-y" in that it involves the exact planning or blueprinting of the softwa

Pretty funny - the scenario you describe is pretty much exactly what happened when I inherited the management of a site that gets about 257,000 uniques per day - millions per year. It was built using Rails 2.0 without any attempt to upgrade

Mining is wasteful but in principle proof of work can be largely replaced by proof of stake, dramatically lowering the energy costs.

I suspect a few in the BitCoin/tech community will lobby Manchin or other members of Congress the other way. There is enough financial interest in BitCoin now that it won't be easily outlawed. Either way, Congress can't ban B

Probably not very long. But I'd wager they've known since at least this morning. Given last night's resignation of Mt. Gox from the Foundation, I'd say since last night.
