Code IS spec. Your code in $INSERT_LANGUAGE is no less of a spec to machine code than english is to $INSERT_LANGUAGE. Spec is still needed, spec is the core problem of engineering. Too much specialization have made job titles like $INSERT_L

Tolkien's book is an art, programs are supposed to do something. Now, some program may be considered art (e.g. codegolf) or considered art by their creator. I consider my programs and code are only the means to get the computer to do w

It's still possible. Have the product and hire other people for these things. Use stripe, cloudflare, whatever the legal equivalent of these stuff, S3. Yes they might take most potential profit, but you'll also not have a huge pay

Nailed it! This is not even AI - it's pre-AI, and everyone has continued to try to create things that other people can use as a dependency, just on a much higher pace. I've found writing simulations that my childhood brain would h

Is it really brain atrophy if I never learned to code in ASM in my entire career as compiler has been doing that for me? A part of me really want to say yes and wear it as a badge to have been coding before LLMs were a thing, but at the sam

That sounds like passing the blame to a tool. A person is ultimately responsible for the output of any tool, and subtly and disastrously wrong code that superficially resemble well written proper code is not a new thing.

How does one get commit marked as claude? It also sounds like a poor idea since I don't also attribute my OS or vim version and language server prior to the advent of LLMs. LLMs is just a great and new way to say compile this english l

Perhaps SEO will become a business to churn out large amount of digestable text with friendly robot.txt and hoping the next AI model learns it? This seem to be the solution, just having a slightly longer turn around time.
