Thank you, that's amazing! While there isn't an extensive comparison available, I have come across a small benchmark that compares a few features. You can find it here: https://garagehq.deuxfleurs.fr/blog/2022

I do. Interested? :D On a small project, I managed to reduce costs by 70 times simply by transitioning and eliminating unnecessary features. This happened four years ago, and the project is still running smoothly. However, what I truly enjo

This is precisely my experience and what I observe in companies that fall into the cloud trap. In addition, it is important not to overlook the significant transformation and upskilling process required, as well as the time needed to accomp

It is not a widely held opinion, but I enjoy, or even prefer, using BSL-licensed products like CockroachDB or ElasticSearch. The license grants me the freedom to use them as I wish, with the exception of competing with their cloud services.

Even worse with Azure. They frequently freak out if you try to provision more than 1-2 instances per week. I have encountered this issue multiple times.

What do you mean by better hardware exactly? ASUS' Zenbook Duo like https://www.darty.com/nav/achat/informatique/ordinateur_port... are pretty awesome. I have the previous model with i9-12900H and it is

I won't believe in it until it proves to solve one of the known NP problems in polynomial time.

Do they check types? Sorry, my previous comment wasn't very clear. Of course, faster languages produce faster results. But the language alone isn't enough in this case.

Rust alone wouldn't help. TypeScript is very hard to compile and to understand because of its complexity. I think there is a need for a different architectural approach with huge parallelization. Some (CI) servers have plenty of cores.

Keycloak is good for most use cases. I heard that some teams failed with Cognito (AWS). But for the current product I built my own server. I was tired of fighting some Keycloak specifics like - No "stay logged in forever if you use the

From my point of view, yes, it does. And in most cases there is nothing wrong with it. Just not hyped. Probably, the only real reason to use something like OAuth2.0/OIDC is single sign-on. (BTW, probably all SSO providers use cookies a

Don't forget that a single certificate is used to sign multiple JWTs. Revoking a certificate (let alone communicating it) will revoke all signed JWTs, not just the specific user's.

Yes, it is good if you can avoid checks, and in most cases you can. But in practice it doesn't matter very much: - Scaling is rarely the problem. I never experienced it myself. The same goes for the session. - The complexity can be hid

Thanks, I was wondering what "SSO tax" means. I see it differently. The enterprise plan is that the company really wants to sell. But it gives a discount to small companies that don't need the enterprise features like SSO, at

Overall great tips. Worth trying, but they are very personal. For example, asking in multiple ways will not really help me. I am working on a learning app/system. The reason for that is, that it is very difficult for me to remember sta
