I can visualize an apple, somewhat vaguely, but I've never been able to hold a stable mental picture of anything for longer that a split-second. It just blinks out of existence the moment I "see" it, which makes it rather dys

I stopped using Spring Debugger because for some inexplicable reason enabling it makes breaking at the breakpoint take minutes instead of seconds. For quite a while I didn't realize this was the problem, as IntelliJ started having it t

Last time it asked me to do a full sync when I changed a single card to use a different template (because I had mistakenly used a wrong template when creating it). The fact that everyday sync works perfectly is still mighty impressive thoug

I don't know when Europe managed to "escape Russian energy dependence" as it still seems to be buying tremendous amounts of Russian fossil fuels that are now branded as Turkish, Indian, Azeri, the list goes on.

Reminds me of a similar case against Dmitry Bogatov in Russia in 2017, it was a big deal back in the day (though of course times have drastically changed and now something like this wouldn't even appear in the news over there).

It's an interesting argument in theory, but in practice the government in my country of origin actively searches through people's phones to find evidence of wrongthink (e.g. donations or incriminating social media activity), for w

I had to tune out because most of the news in my region for the past several years are about the ongoing war. Even when you've made sure you're nowhere near it physically (provided that it doesn't expand into other countries)
