It was in the GIF of the Gatsby 3 implementation in the embedded tweet. Here's a direct link to the tweet to save you some time: https://twitter.com/nystudio107/status/920673966091534338?re... Edit: Maybe the

I didn't mean to refer to blurred images, but the unblurred outline SVGs in this article. I think the blurred ones are somewhat pointless too. The unblurred versions give you actual information as to what the image is. For instance, th

I disagree. If you have a user on a very slow connection on an image heavy site, the user experience will be enhanced significantly. Depending on how you implement it, you might even save them bandwidth. No interesting content for them in t

When the new Pixi version is dropped into place (I finished coding that recently) it performs much better on Firefox. I agree that with the current version it's definitely not great. Edit: Just to be clear, when I say much better, I do

Plenty of us dorks complain about Stallman's worldview and philosophy. I won't complain about the contributions he's made to computing, or even the world in general, but striking it lucky doesn't make you philosophically

That's a fascinating fact as an Irish descendant in America of emigrants who left because of the famine, but I have to wonder if it's cherry picked. Is the same true of any number smaller than 100? If I don't get an answer, I

I mean, I've worked for several companies and left months before they actually launched. Any contractor who works with startups have been through similar situations. Can't speak for OP's situation though.

I think #1 is the most realistic. Intel does some very significant work with Numpy as it is with MKL. #2 seems like dark voodoo magic that'd be neat, but pretty much impossible.

I'm not sure how familiar with it you are, but that's kinda a result of flux/redux architecture. There's a global state that things are passed props to. If there is some change triggered as the result of a component bei

I mildly disagree. componentWillMount() is slightly superior to the constructor, though only for very specific situations[0]. I would agree that for the vast majority of people who use ES6, the difference basically doesn't exist, but t

I hate saying it, but that actually seems fair in a way. If I was interviewing for a company at 66, I could see why they wouldn't want to hire me. There's a solid chance I'd leave the next year when I get social security. Tha

I think ageism (in software) is largely a problem in startup culture. I've never seen a trace of it, but a few of my older friends with beaucoup experience have tried to join startups and told they weren't a "fit for the cult

I'm curious, why wouldn't sqlite cut it? Granted, I'm not a blockchain afficiando, but I have several sqlite DBs that run a couple hundred gigabytes a piece that work quite well.

I don't mean to be a naysayer, but if you want to program a real game, Elm really isn't the language to do it in. Perhaps at some point in the future it'll be a language to watch, but there are far better options available ri

I'm not sure if that's a realistic hope. IANAB, but FtM individuals don't have a Y chromosome to work with, so I don't see how they could get the genetic coding to make testes work. You could use a biological male's
