I was actually shocked by the list of sponsors, because it looks like they didn't have a couple hundred for a quick professional design job. Text gifs, inline script tags, default UA fonts. Yes, I understand that the site isn't the focus he

I wonder what the political forces behind this are, because I'd like to think that the engineers that implemented it understood that a) it will do nothing to stop piracy, and b) it will reduce usage of Live Messenger

Seriously? It's Google. Their frickin' home page. I would hope Google employees use enough of Google that no such breakage would ever make it anywhere near user's eyes. Also, nonlinking is unlikely to be caused by CSS problems.

Interesting. Does this have to do with pushing SPYW/G+, since it encourages retyping queries next to the "personal" results?

What if according to facebook, the brands you like correlate with mortgage default? And they sold that data to your bank, so now you can't get that house you wanted? That's what you're missing.

I think we're both correct here. Blasting data between frames to get around cross-domain restrictions is a means to an end. What you're really trying to achieve is data moving between hosts at different domains: i.e. pushing or pulling. I

TL;DR A bag of neatly unified transport hacks around X-Domain restrictions. Like Socket.io, but without the proxy server and direct connect instead of pub/sub.

I've actually been using C++11 for two years now (experimental stuff in GCC), and yes I agree: C++ is loads better than it used to be, and it's a pleasure to work with. That still doesn't mean it's a good idea to write a full web app in a C

A cool hack, but I can't help this feeling pointless in practice. It solves the problem of using Node userland code to do heavy computation. But a) serious developers know better than to do heavy computation inside of Node anyway, and b) it

To clarify, node already has parallelized I/O threads. The only thing that isn't parallelized is the JS-land code.

I can't count how many times I've handcoded button colors, so thanks for this timesaver. But I'm actually more interested in a deeper aspect here: what will button colors do to my conversion funnel? So here's an idea for a weekend hack: I

Honest question: have you actually tried working with modules and dependencies in Node? It's better now, but it's still not pleasant and often installing a module starts with debugging. And what's the core missing, would you say? Personal
