The privacy aspect is what made me connect local LLMs with therapeutic use. But yeah, AI as it stands today just isn't safe enough. We need nine 9s of safe usage here (99.999999999% safe), or more, for me to actually feel comfortable w

I think we may see society settling on feeling comfortable with their doctor using an AI, but not being an AI.

Is the success metric installation or use? Most people don't know you can install a PWA but there's still aspects of PWAs (like offline mode, etc.) that are beneficial and invisible to the user.

The risks involving hallucinations are too damn high still, and may always be. I had a similar line of thought with AI therapists. It could be massively beneficial if perfect, but the risk in seriously messing with someone's well-being

Of course, but there will be diminishing returns. Eventually there will be a "Raspberry Pi" for LLMs. How long it will take to get there is anyone's guess, but I'd rather see it sooner than later personally.

Nothing stopping them from eventually slapping a big-ol' banner ad on the side of the web app if they want.

I'm biting the bullet and moving to GnuCash myself. It seems intimidating at first but playing around with the UI made it less scary. As I get older I'm also just doing fewer transactions in general, so it's easier for me the

Thought exercise: How do you start writing a program? Do you know the final UI down to the pixel, or just generally how things will be laid out?

We can either rage against the era we were born into, or we can accept what we can change and what we cannot. One path leads to less frustration than the other. Be careful that you don't find yourself enjoying irritation.

There can be moral reasons for treason. The founding fathers certainly considered themselves moral and principled. Your frustration is misguided. Simply do not confuse illegality with immorality. Human beings generally want to feel like the

"Fault" is probably too loaded a term. "Contributing to the crash / making the accident worse than it could have been" may be more accurate but longer winded.

Don't look at it as wasted effort, look at it as practice for later. Applies to both fan fiction and animated fan works like Bartkira. The work is not the end for the author.

If unionization were endemic to the global economy, that might work. Lacking that, power dynamics are such that workers need protections enshrined in legislation. If salaries are a race-to-the-bottom, nobody benefits except the ones doing t

Reproduced to what fidelity? 100%? If OpenAI's output reproduces a copyrighted image with one pixel changed, is that valid in your view? Where does the line end? Copyrighted material should never be used for nonacademic language models
