This reminds me of a story one of my college professors told about the days when he helped automate factories in the 80s. Every night, the control server hey installed would go offline around 1am then come back up a few minutes later. It wa

I'm not sure how it compares with Octotrack, but we've been using bundler-audit[1] for similar security checks in our dependencies. Here's a sample Dockerfile[2] for running bundler-audit against your

Jack Dorsey became CEO of Twitter in October 2015. The numbers in the article are for all of 2015. Should he have been able to fix the financials in the first three months back as CEO? I feel like I'm missing something.

I mostly agree. The one thing I really miss is a bookmarklet I made that would highlight the top five posts on a comments page. This was especially useful for quickly finding the gems on pages with hundreds of comments. I wish there was an

At my company, we've set up our own Kubernetes cluster and moved our production applications over to it over the past couple months. While I definitely agree, there is a steep learning curve for getting Kubernetes set up and configured

Thanks for the info! I've found the end user documentation to be excellent, but the documentation for actually managing a cluster to be lack luster. This series has been perfect for filling in that gap. Thanks again!

I'm really enjoying this series. We started using kubernetes at work a few weeks ago and detailed documentation like this is pretty hard to find. Kamal, what resources are you using to learn the information in these posts?

Thanks for the response justin. I sent you an email with a couple comments to the address in your profile. Assuming my team decides to go with k8s, I'd be interested in helping create some of that documentation.

I would be very interested in hearing about anyone's experience managing mesosphere dcos compared to kubernetes. My company is exploring our options in the container orchestration space and have been testing out kubernetes on aws in th

I've been listening to the iojs technical committee calls and they're moving forward with that in parallel with new development. It sounds like they think the merge is likely, but not guaranteed, and it may be a months long proces

Yeah, this is pretty much what we do. We only use test suites for the backend apps which only expose an API. They just stub out calls to other services. However, our front end apps is where we're running into trouble. The people on the

So here's a question we've been talking about at my office. When developing a micro-service on your development machine, do you need to run the whole stack or just the service you're working on? For example, let's I am w

I agree that my concern may be misplaced and everything could work out fine. I'd categorize myself as "cautiously optimistic" about these laws still, but wanted to bring this up since I don't see much discussion about it
