That was my first thought: Just one? I suppose having a working POC is also a good idea if they need to scale up more of them to protect/regularly repair the cables.

I'm one of 4 Andrews in my company. All different teams, and we often get emails meant for each other. It's quite fun guessing which Andrew an email is meant for. Also, we're winning, as there's only 3 of the next mo

Not to be inflammatory, but why? The only benefit I can see is reducing the likelihood of new strains getting into the US, but to me this is like a swimming pool requiring people to be dry before they get in. It would make sense as part of

Singapore open-sourced their app, and Australia basically took the code and used it. Haven't really heard much about the app any more. Now it's all QR codes. I don't think the apps work that well with Apple's bluetooth

I feel like all of the people who just say "they're an island" are kind of diminishing the accomplishment, so I'd just like to point out a few things: One, we had 9mil visitors in 2018, so it's not an island nobody

Your comment for some reason compelled me to check up on Patrick Rothfuss, as I occasionally do: > In July of 2020, Rothfuss's editor and publisher Betsy Wollheim said, "I've never seen a word of book three" and that

Isn’t this just a google home mini? What’s new about it? I was kinda hoping it’d have the sensors like smoke/c02/air quality along with the other home mini features, but it looks like it’s just using the nest name?

I’ve become a bit disillusioned by grassroots organising given how easy it seems to be to fake. This place claims to be self-funded, but I wonder. It’s exactly the sort of thing a foreign adversary would fund just to cause trouble in the U.

Just some fun with the English language: > probably upwards of 80% of my time is spent on things I wouldn’t need to do if it weren’t distributed. If you don't ever plan on distributing your software you can save a _lot_ of time :)

Features I'd like them to add: * Timestamps on each article * colour code issues across all sites (for example, all articles related to the ASUS hack could have a light pink background colour, to group them together)

I don't think the U.S. wants Europe to figure out how to protect itself, or to create a European Union army/navy/air force. It's another geopolitical block, one that could theoretically challenge U.S. dominance, what wit

People don't usually marry for wildly different ages, so what about age brackets? 34m of the total population is 2.5%, but what is 34m as a percentage of the population between, say, 15yrs and 30yrs?
