You can increase the open file descriptor ulimit very easily. Regarding the port-limitation: I think he means the connections from nginx to your Websocket-App...

I'm glad to answer your questions. As I wrote, this was just a fun project for like two (maybe three) evenings, you can't expect to much. Webstack is Nginx + Ruby + Sinatra + MySQL (Datamapper, I know I should switch to Sequel) and a worker

Exactly :) I also have a more serious project regarding DNS, even with an anycasted network, dnssec, etc - but that is still in beta and I just wanted to do something for fun (Idea came while I was implementing a zonefile importer)

Thanks for your feedback - have now installed OTRS and give it a try. Let us see how good it will work. My second choice would be Zendesk, so, yea :) Freshdesk looks good as well, will also have a look at it. Thanks.
