Seems analogous to putting seaweedfs in front of a cloud S3. Then adding a database. We use(unrelated) Zenoh and Loki keeping state on S3 so it would be interesting to have a KV engine.

kinda the premise of Stargate where most aliens copied other aliens advanced tech. So actually anyone who could build it from scratch was kinda rare.

real quite high level sorry, most of your embedded projects going forward are MCU+fpga to do what? I thought a custom router but 284mbps isn't nearly fast for a network.

it's a bit of that you have to know the sha, and that's quite unique. it's apparently unique enough for Google photos to "private" share without logins

Well NPM isn't really your problem there, the registry its targeting is and that's a firewall & config change, no need to block npm.exe.

I've really tried a few times to go down this rabbit hole and get something working and this thread has like 7 projects I've never come across before.

This is what I meant, these are all examples working around the default execution policy. That's microsoft ruining things not powershell as a language. I didn't say it was niche rare or wrong. It's just bad and it's MS&#

Powershell passes data not instructions and a lot of those complaints sound like trying to write another language in Powershell. I've shoved json from node through Powershell into the clipboard and back to filter with select-object and

it just isn't everywhere though. sh, ash zsh, Mac... windows are all different. you think it works everywhere but really its just breaking and nobody is telling you. python is just as everywhere and that's a total mess.

there's a lot of applications where standard is more useful than custom, so size is a feature. costumes for example.

I used to feel that way but now I find it really hard to tell if the dog is crying in the next room or I'm imagining stuff in the tinnitus. my partner at this point is already well aware of the dog

what you don't want all their crypto libraries? As targeted as go, this is right up there.

seaweedfs has worked really nice for our small use for 2 years. some docs polish wouldn't hurt but reading the source isn't hard and I don't know golang.

nice, what does NAC look like if v6 can self address. I've been low-teching DHCP whitelists. I have an audit problem not a security problem.

I used this and btrfs on the Steam deck to preload my library because the network would have taken forever and the internet I had at the time would have taken that x100. This could be the first FS that just-works across nix, Mac and windows

the audio setup is pretty clever. I was looking at how to do the same and it's surprisingly hard to figure out an audio switch. some niche very expensive bits of kit but even those aren't really any input-output combinations.

In most countries where automatics aren't the default, no that generally never happens. you'd have to not know it's in gear, have the engine running, not be on the break and not have the handbrake on.

I think ssh keys signing goes a long way to point 3. I haven't looks if you can (or if it matters) to sign with an ssh certificate, but that would be useful to add some context to the signature too.
