Qwest never owned Sprint.

I don't think that materially really had anything to do with it. Sprint was dying - with extraordinarily high debt, in 2007, well before Softbank bought them, and indeed they lost money every year from 2008 forward - https://

I agree generally that there needs to be a cap on damages.

It seems to me that if I were building a VPN client like Global Protect but using WG, I'd have an eternal per client auth key that is used to set up an initial tunnel to the VPN controller, over that you perform auth, etc, then you

I dont get why people elsewhere on this thread are so up in arms about it - it seems like a perfectly reasonable interpretation of federal law, consistent with other kinds of civil claims. Tying the ability to recover damages not to the dat

Even half asleep on sleeping pills, he sounded like someone who very much enjoyed the product he was hawking, which is not too bad on its own!

It's TDM internally, but converts to IP at the edge of the device. It can still operate over TDM for legacy, but yeah, thats the answer.

We're still shipping hardware with PowerQUICC stuff in it, its used in a TDM/IP intelligent channel bank.

Bandwidth in part. AM is more spectrally efficient than FM, and with synchronous AM receivers, you can get noise rejection that is near FM.

The decades of underinvestment were driven by the fact that they were money losing operations, on whole.

Agreed. If you look at the development patterns of any major sprawl-y metro like DFW or Los Angeles, the freeways parallel where the interurban went.

Sorta agree - I'm mostly doing string handling and parsing on windows boxes - so I often just want it to compare on a string or whatever. But sometimes the "everything is an object" is useful in ways that would be really hard

tmux might work - I tested early with tmux but the last time I bothered was pre-1.0 versions of tmux. Screen supports it well, but tmux is probably worth testing.

Also, I agree with you with some buts - as someone who has lots of vintage electronics, I'm not sure thats 100% true - cheap consumer products always had issues - the higher end gear came with a good manual and an errata sheet - so I d

Its one of the two reasons I've never switched to tmux - the other is habit, I have a well formed .screenrc and I'm used to it.

Putting screen in the middle is actually the fix for that - Screen has been very good for me at acting as a decent translation layer for misbehaving apps.

I'd love an actual 327x family terminal - they're very well build, and the inbuilt font set is rather visually appealing.

My WYSE 180E is still sitting in the garage for much the same reasons. I used that every day as my daily driver terminal for 10-12 years - I got it was what was effectively NOS, so zero hours on the tube. I've not turned it on I think

Windows Phone had the best UX of any of the mobile operating systems, it was something I could hand to a user who'd never had a smart phone before, and it was much more intuitive for them - they could figure it out without help. Sadly

I think the short form content inherent to TikTok - in some ways makes it worse than old YouTube was, because its multitudes of different people making the same or similar points - its more reinforcing. That said I otherwise agree with you

I'm not seeing any issue with those voices finding a space elsewhere say on X/Twitter - believe me, I see enough of the slop over from it. The level of direct control the US Government has over US Social Media platforms pales in c

I dont know that I would be making that claim about other platforms - there is something unique, pervasive and opaque about TikTok and how they try to drive engagement.

I've watched people end up radicalized by content on TikTok - in ways that twitter, facebook, youtube, et al doesn't seem to do. You end up seeing the opening for a rabbit hole, and then suddenly you're very deep into said ra
