In anything other than tech many of these can be considered a competitive advantage. That's where the lines get blurred. I wonder how many applicants were recent grads without fully understanding the industry.

Precisely. It's one of those things where the longer you put it off the more expensive it gets to fix and the harder it is to deal with. My vote is to just adjust to doing it on day one.
