I'm not much of a car expert (I don't even have one), but as far as I know from what I hear people say, one of the main reasons that American cars have a bad reputation in Europe is that they are seen as gas guzzlers. So to counte

If we can make cars that actually drive themselves, I'm sure we can make them refuse to run if there are serious maintenance issues.

There's a lot of inertia involved in this. I have launched international hiring processes for PhD studentship positions at my lab. More than once, I have had good candidates who ended up rejecting an offer and going to the US instead b

I have played every game in the main series. Civ 1 was amazing, a great breakthrough in gaming history, but from the perspective of 2018 you probably can skip it, as Civ 2 is richer and more polished. Maybe because I'm a bit old (sigh)

The best one I know in this regard is the Platinum #3776 Century, mentioned above. It has a special sealing mechanism so that it can go for months without drying as long as you close the cap. On Amazon you can find Japanese sellers that sel

No. "60% of the national median" is not the same thing as fixing a percentile, and it is perfectly possible to not have poverty under that definition. For example, in a country with ten people whose incomes are 7, 7, 8, 8, 10, 10,
