It's a nice summary of the current situation, but I was a bit disappointed to find no new information.

Yeah, it must be because it's two years old and fell through the cracks. But source is available and it's fairly easy to host the two necessary files: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/alyssa/monotone-portraits&#

> Might I ask where you found a $16/year VPS, and whether you'd recommend the provider? Here is how you can get the answer to this question yourself: $ dig <website-domain> you'll get its IP(v4) address.

ECH (the new name of eSNI) is not even out of draft status yet, so it's misleading to put it on the same level as TLS 1.3 (although you did say it was not as widely supported, it's an understatement).

Meh, I'm a bit skeptic. Memory corruption of ring buffer could make it possible to inject exec syscalls. So, like any other memory corruption ? Also, io_uring already supports open/read/write which is often enough to convert

The only difference is this: > ‘covered platforms’ (companies that have a half-million monthly U.S. users and more than $600 billion in market cap) There are only 8 companies in the world that match the market cap. Probably 6 if you add

It seems you already know how hard ops can be, so you might already know that a little development effort can often go a long way into alleviating the ops tasks, which is a win for everyone. I'm not sure every developer knows, or under

Indeed, it's mostly a non issue. There are so many translators working for EU institutions, that I don't see how it would change much.

On the contrary, if the FAQ entry is honest (and this is the first question), then I'd say let them market it however they like. But I fully understand how one could get quite a marketed-bugs-fatigue.

Just checked and I did not output lua code, but I used the AST to do custom static checks; only the js part did code output, and used babel-plugin-recast to get identical formatting.

Note that this fine is a settlement, it was negotiated and accepted by Google and the french watchdog. Some say it's because of how low-balling it is compared to actual damage.

I did this recently with both lua (luaparse) and javascript (babel), and this is a fundamental tool to have in your toolbox once working with large codebases. Javascript has great tooling for this (see AST explorer and all the different lib

No, I was just curious how big a mining pool one had to have to pull it off. I invite you to do the same for ETH if you're curious about it.

I'm curious what it's like, so here is a small calculation. Some metrics: - 144 blocks per day are mined on average - the current network hashrate is 145M TH/s - a 100 TH/s rig is about $10k. The investment to be able to

If you know you mine blocks regularly (e.g once per day or week), it's entirely doable. It's the miners who chose what transactions go into a block. In this scheme, the transaction is "secret", only one miner received it
