If you're a freelancer, you should say CUSTOMER, not BOSS. Also, you decide when you raise your prices (yes, it's still a negotiation, and yes, it depends on your contract).

Does anyone know how that works ? I'd be open to seeing what is the internal communication. Will the Russian employees be in furlough ? Will they cut access ? How is the business supposed to move forward ?

From my estimates it's probably closer to 1500. They have 1900 employees worldwide: https://www.jetbrains.com/lp/annualreport-2022/

Very interesting how advanced those grievances are. If that's not a sign of maturity, I don't know what is. Otherwise, seems like a good list, thanks for sharing @woodruffw.

What people seem to miss IMHO, is that this is "difficulty" thing is a time trade-off deeply ingrained in this type of game design. The frustration as you learn the rules of the game and try to improve this particular set of dexte

There are many chiptune artists writing music with game boy software, even doing live performance with them. A personal favorite is Klirre: https://klirre.bandcamp.com/track/sajuuk-over-and-over Album description says

If it's just for video conferencing, have you considered getting a dedicated device/smartphone just for teams ? Would free your main computer and let you work efficiently when you don't need it.

To add mor context: there were two main PS3 models with PS2 support, the first one with most of the PS2 hardware (which you might be referring to), and the second one with just the gpu + software emulation for the CPU. The later PS3s scrape

Context for people who don't listen to podcasts: most hosts ask their audience for an Apple podcast(ex-itunes) rating of their podcast, which improves their visibility. Therefore we have a self-reinforcing loop.

Small feedback for the letsencrypt folk: I got the email saying that I have two ACME accounts ids affected. It would have been nice to know which domains are (even if it's just the first ~10 or so per account).

The 5 years for Pixel are for security updates only. OS updates are still 3 years. IMHO it's still too low, but it's a (small) step up.

I think you misread my comment this as an anti-RISC-V shill. I'm just saying there are challenges which were known in the past 10+ years since RISC-V was invented, and will still be here in the next 20. FWIW I think the direction the e

Designing a CPU is easy. Very easy, any grad student can do it. So why is Arm worth so much ? Because it's only part of the problem. If Arm is so successful, it's (IMHO) because of software. Sure, they have world-class CPU designe

No that wouldn't help because you'd need to store the random salt along the hashes. So you can still do: bcrypt(other_leaked_md5 + salt) to shuck it (i.e confirm if both are the same, and skip the bcrypt on your stronger service).

A tip I learned recently: if you see a database with a simple hash with no salt(md5, sha256…) like this, and you want to migrate to a secure password hashing function (bcrypt, argon2…) you don't need to wait for the users to re-login:
