Heh. "standard text" So anyway, the journal asks why I'm citing Alberts so much and I write back, "Alberts is the standard text, editor."

This article is a writeup of someone else's writeup. Keeping an eye out for publications with surprising findings is a good way to fill that last bit of space in the science section, but it's not going to reproduce all the details. It does

Me too. It seems that I reliably click on the titles I like least, just to see if they're as bad as I expect. Isn't that odd?

It's a little funny. The first I heard of Sam Altman was when Paul Graham said, "Ah, so this is what Bill Gates must have been like when he was 19." 2.5 years later Paul puts Sam on the list and leaves Bill off of it.

The card game, Chrononauts, has been around a while already. On the other hand, you'll only be frustrated if you bring too much strategy to the table for that game.

In general if you sell your company (or pieces of it) you will get something less than the net present value of all its future dividends, as estimated by the buyer. You or your VC shareholders may choose to do so anyway because it's more co

Yes, as a matter of fact $100 per month is a lot of money. Start saving even a little bit now and you'll be surprised at how it adds up. Your college loan payment is so huge that even 3% of it would have a big effect. By the way, my dentist
