I see. I imagined then being panels on like a hinge that you like unbolt, tilt a little and then bolt down again. I didn't know it would take multiple people to do it.

But what was the point then? During the final exam, a national exam (all the students did it at the same time in the country) you were given blank pieces of paper, a pen, 10 different topics to choose from, and 6 hours. You pick a topic, wr

I think these complaints will fall onto deaf ears for at least two reasons: 1. Students are a captive audience. They don't want to be there. It's the law that makes them be there. Even once you're beyond mandatory education t

Doesn't Steam do the same thing? And even registering a company in (some) EU countries has effectively the same address requirement where a PO box is not allowed. Also, when I said "changes like this" I mean changes in genera

This effectively kills apps that are made by individuals or very small businesses that can't afford an office. It's kind of incredible how the EU makes changes like this and then politicians scratch their heads about the weakness

I think an interesting feature might be tabs that turn into bookmarks automatically after a week/month of being open but not interacted with.

I operate this way, but I didn't used to bookmark them. Until one day I needed to find a website that I had not bookmarked and had closed. I even remembered where the tab was supposed to be but I had mass closed my tabs. It took a long

A human can play tictactoe or any other simple game in a few minutes after being described the game. AI will do all kinds on interesting things that either are against the rules or will be extremely poor choices. Yeah, I tried playing ticta

Consumer hardware is where the innovation slowly starts though. Without the years of people messing with GPGPU on consumer hardware we might not have got the AI revolution on GPUs.

I think no algorithmic curation is its strength. It means that even if an echo chamber appears anybody can still post their opinion and it doesn't get downvoted into oblivion when people disagree.

Just to be clear though: "the world's rich" here doesn't mean "billionaire CEOs" that a lot of people think of. It means the average American and European.

Forgive me if I'm not interested in such a platform. Here are some examples of "hate speech" in Europe: British teen arrested for quoting rap lyrics.[0] German man arrested for calling the vice chancellor an idiot ("dumk

People wouldn't use it, because Europe does censor speech. A German man was arrested for calling the vice chancellor an idiot, a British teen arrested for citing rap lyrics etc. The platform would be dead on arrival.

I don't think it's a lot of assumptions at all. You hear people decrying ad-supported websites all the time. When pressed on the issue they essentially resort to "well maybe these websites shouldn't exist then!", wh

Most apps for mobile suck too. A lot of them are worse because they are not in a web browser, eg YouTube or Reddit or similar apps that work via urls. Browsers are some of the very few apps that work well on a phone. Most of the other one

Scales are a very interesting thing to think about. There's a theory that the universe didn't really 'start' with the big bang, that it was always there, but at a different scale. The big bang was essentially an increase

If such a singularity exists at all. The thing we "observe" about black holes is the event horizon. It could be that space inside a black hole is just regular space.

Perhaps dark energy is hawking radiation. We just see what it's like from the inside. Something to consider is a possible time scale difference. Eg time could be dilated for us for being around so much density.

Humans are a self-replicating (super) intelligence. We didn't conquer the world nor doom it the moment we appeared. It took us 100,000 years to invent farming. Also, humans suffer from many of the same problems ascribed to AI: humans a
