One of the researchers mentioned in the article, Roy Baumeister, wrote a book that I enjoyed (entitled "Willpower"). He gave a talk about willpower and glucose levels which you can see some of here: https://www.youtube.

If I didn't answer your question, feel free to ping me on email. There's a non trivial amount of tweaking I did to make this thing run the way I want.

I'm on the 34" external right now running about 60 tabs in chrome, some vim sessions, and a paused google music tab, and it's silent (no fan noise at all).

I long ago gave up on waiting for the next version of anything. That being said, I love power savings and if I stick with this setup (SPro with a mechanical keyboard) I will eventually switch to a Broadwell Core M model when it comes out. I

The uni in Thailand that I first worked at had a very common canteen setup that served delicious noodles with fresh vegetables and nutritious, cheap, gray cubes of blood. Pretty standard asian fare. Glad that this has now been discovered by

Sure. I added "local" about a second after posting for this reason. However even with -f you can just specify an interval when running tests outside your lan.

On current iputils ping (seems to be default on most linux distros) you should be using flood ping for this: # ping -f x.x.x.x As superuser or su -c / sudo of course. You'll get a nice real time bar chart of packet loss.

I agree, though at least in some low power cases you can use it with a regular micro usb cable and pretend it isn't the weird wide monstrosity that it is.

No need for much money. There are hundreds of adapter types available for most mainstream bodies. Cheap Canon or Nikon digital slr (used, old generation, etc.) and an adapter, you can use lenses from yesteryear. I have my dad's Nikon F

For sci-fi readers that dig aperiodic tiling, Greg Egan wrote a great short story in his book 'Diaspora' about computational wang tiles. http://www.amazon.com/Diaspora-Greg-Egan-ebook/dp/B00E83YOEI (the

I used this game to intro kids to command-line usage in a recent Linux-for-kids class I taught. Worked wonders. Once they were comfortable with the IF parser, moving to CLI was much easier.
